Local Member Cleans Up
The member for Gosford Chris Holstein MP joined the SULO staff at their Somersby facility as part of the "Clean Up Australia Day" event for local businesses.
It was a fun day that culminated in a lunchtime BBQ catered for by the SULO production team. Everyone volunteered and contributed to a very successful event. Some staff cleaned out internal offices and department spaces while others joined "Litter Patrol Teams" that cleaned up the outside area and along the road in front of the SULO facility. All staff were also encouraged to bring in old electronic devices for collection and recycling.
"We hope to support our local community and the local environment by cleaning up our site, collecting rubbish and recycling as much of it as possible", SULO Director of Marketing John Kernahan said. The final tally was impressive with a 4 wheel 660L industrial bin filled with E-Waste (mobile phones and other electronic devices including batteries) for recycling. Timber pallets, stationary and glasses were also collected for recycling, while 9 bags of litter was picked up to keep Somersby beautiful.
The staff at SULO Australia are keen to participate again next year and build on the success of this year's event.
